The system LaTeX: x^{k+1} = A x^k is asymptotically stable in the large if LaTeX: \textstyle \lim_{k \rightarrow \infty} x^k = 0 for any initial LaTeX: x^0. Originally developed for differential (and difference) equations, this applies to a sequence generated by an algorithm.
