Continuous program

A mathematical program with continuous variables. Moreover, the term is commonly used to further imply that the objective and constraint funtions are continuous, an assumption that allows certain analytical results. For example, Weierstrass first proved that continuous functions attain both a maximum and a minimum over a compact set. If the problem contains both continuous and integer variables, then the problem is said to be a mixed integer program.
