GRASP stands for Greedy Randomized Adaptive Search Procedures. It is a metaheuristic that uses restart to search many portions of the solution space. Once it is started, some Heuristic is employed to reach a local optimum. The choice for the local search can be problem-specific, such as using an n-opt neighborhood for the TSP, or it can use another metaheuristic, like simulated annealing or tabu search.
